Last year, I shared a few recipes using the Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry Sheets, and my husband has been anxiously awaiting a delicious treat for him using these again. I set out this past week to create an apple strudel using the puff pastry. These were not only simple, but gobbled up in seconds. The apple strudels are a cross between a strudel and a hand pie in my opinion.
The first step is to saute the apples. I decided to do a basic saute on them using butter, brown sugar, cornstarch, and water. These only take about 15 minutes in a skillet on medium heat and they are nice and caramelized. I also opted to leave the skins on the apples as opposed to peeling them.
Once my apples were nice and soft, I placed them on half of one of the puff pastry sheets. Then, I folded it over so that all the sides would meet.
Next, I sliced it on the seams into three part. I decided to just do three individual strudels. I used the ends of the fork to seal the edges and keep the apples nice and snug inside.
Finally, I did an egg wash to give it a browned, crisp look and popped them in the oven.
These are ready to serve after about 20 minutes in the oven and would be great topped with a little icing or paired with ice cream too.

I started my blog in 2010 after growing up not knowing how to cook. I taught myself to cook and literally went from burnt oven mitts to homemade meals. Now I share easy recipes daily for my readers!
