Anyone who knows me knows what a huge affliction I have for bacon. I mean, Iâll put it in anything â from donuts, to pancakes, to even cheesecake (hey, donât knock it until you try it!). I seriously canât get enough. I mean â bacon is amazing, yâall. Itâs the best thing ever.
This past weekend, I had a little get together â and I had the perfect idea. Everyone I know loves bacon just like I do â because well, itâs bacon. Whatâs not to love? So, I made the ultimate centerpiece on the buffet tableâ¦
Say what?
You heard me. A bacon bar, yâall.
And if youâre gonna do a bacon bar, you know you gotta do it right & use good quality bacon. I consider myself a little bit of a bacon aficionado & my family/friends know this â so I have to serve the best of the best on this bacon bar.
For that reason, I went with Wright® Brand Bacon because itâs super high quality & always has the best cuts of premium meatâ¦and the bacon never ever shrivels up & shrinks (boo for bacon shrinkage!). The fat & meat ratio is perfect, and itâs thick cut. Oh so good!
I did a variety of different flavors â and even a little âdessertâ bacon too by drizzling melted milk chocolate on some bacon & melted dark chocolate on some other pieces of bacon. If you havenât tried chocolate covered bacon yet, you donât know what youâre missing. Sweet & salty perfection, my friends.
As for the rest of my bacon bar, I cooked up 3 different flavors. I went to the local Food Lion & picked up 3 different flavor varieties of Wright Brand Bacon â Hickory Smoked, Applewood Smoked, & Bourbon Barrel Smoked. (Wright Brand Bacon also comes in Smoked Brown Sugar and Oak Barrel Smoked flavors).
I used my 3 tier server to display all the bacon goodness, placing each flavor of bacon on a different tier.
The Bourbon Barrel Smoked (on the very top of the buffet server) was my FAVORITE of all. Oh. My. Gosh. Itâs SO good. Itâs way better than I imagined. As soon as you open the package, the bourbon notes hit your nose â and the flavor is still there after cooking. So yummy & so different than any other bacon Iâve tried. We all agreed that itâd be so good to season baked beans too.
We had a little bacon voting contest too â everyone placed their vote for their favorite flavor of bacon. Mine was obviously the Bourbon Barrel Smoked â but the Applewood Smoked won out among everyone. You can join in on the vote & vote for your favorite flavor of Wright Brand Bacon here. â Bacon The Wright Wayâ¢
All in all, I cooked up 8 pounds of bacon! I think I might have cooked a couple pounds too much because we were all stuffed after 6 pounds! I think this may be the very first time Iâve ever had leftover bacon
With all this leftover bacon, Iâll be adding it to dishes for the next few days. Do yâall have any ideas to use it up? Leave a comment & let me know what YOUR favorite recipes with bacon as the main ingredient â I could use a little inspiration!
