When it comes to middle eastern food and chickpeas, the first thing that comes to people's minds is the world famous, Hommous spread.
While its fame is well justified (I mean come on, it's Hommous!), I think the other chickpea based Mezzes of the Lebanese cuisine deserve equal attention and adoration!Dishes like our traditional Beiruti recipe for today, Hommos Balila.

Balila has its own hardcore die hard fans, and I'm the newest addition to the club!
I mean really, I can hardly think of anything more relaxing than curling up in the sofa with a good book after a long day at work, drifting away to the sound of chickpeas cooking on the stove.
Well that, and eating a huge bowl of Balila while watching a re-run of Friends of TV.
Yep, that's my kind of weeknight mommy time for you right there. I hope you Enjoy!
