When I think of Tenerife, I should think about the weather or the friendly people and of course, the ocean. But no, the only thing I can think of is this coffee.

You may be wondering, what exactly is a barraquito? Well it is a super sweet coffee drink from Tenerife, Canary Islands.

It seems like almost every place has its signature drink. In Tenerife they have the best and sweetest coffee. Here’s my version without the coffee liqueur.

You can’t go wrong with coffee, condensed milk, and whipped cream.

Ingredients:

• 1/4 cup condensed milk
• ½ cup regular coffee
• Whipped cream
• Chocolate shavings

 

Preparation:

Pour the condensed milk in the bottom of a glass  add the coffee.  Serve with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
