Can you FEEL the Baby Lovington of the #Campbelltown Moonlight Markets Merriment, Magic and Music?
What a night indeed and honestly, while I was Curious WHAT made âThe Campbelltown South Australianâ Community HOWL via last monthâs markets, this monthâs #Campbelltown Moonlight Markets were all about âMerriment, Magic and Music;â and once again #Campbelltown Community spirit!
For those of you unfamiliar with Baby Lovington, lamingtons are of Australian origin; a sponge cake traditionally coated in desiccated coconut.
However these Baby Lovingtons are the creation of elbio patisserie and cafe and âare filled with dark chocolate ganashe or raspberry jam and are in the shape of a heart!â
elbio patisserie and cafe is one of the numerous Campbelltown City Council âs Flavours of Campbelltown Foodtrail businesses.
For Adelaidians who want to be tourists in their own town and or for a great holiday gift idea (and a great day out), Tour Barossa via Getaways Reservation Service is âoffering scheduled tours for individuals, couples, families and groups to experience the cultural and culinary diversity of the Campbelltown area.â
Back to the Moonlight Markets with my friend Queen Louie eh? lol
Just a quick personal note to Queen Louie; want to thank you not only for experiencing this monthâs #Campbelltown Moonlight Markets About Merriment, Magic and Music, but for all the âgood, clean, fun, food mischiefâ we got into! lol
âThey say,â âIf you believe, they will come!â
Wasnât that âsuggestedâ on the TV series The X-Files?â
In this case, the Campbelltown Council SA Moonlight Markets are held 4 times a year at Thorndon Park and the people of #Campbelltown and all Adelaidians seem to âmake and takeâ the time to come because they still âbelieveâ it is good to support local businesses who are passionate about their products (hand crafted; hand made) and locally sourced, locally produced foods and wine!
What a great âfamilyâ night for free entry to catch up with family and friends!
In no particular order (as we donât play favorites lol), Queen Louie and I started off with Fudge It who âdo things differentlyâ and create âhand made tasty treatsâ like Gourmet Fudge and Rocky Road.
Fudge It also does Gluten Free Torrone Italian Style Nougat!
Iâll Fudge It and let out TWO secrets out today; well, really not secrets, but something I wanted to share with you!
One of their new releases of Torrone flavours for December is Limoncello!
And you can now âmake your own chocolatesâ at Fudge It , but youâll have to contact them direct; feel free to tell them the secret was slipped out by me! lol (is all in good fun!)
In addition to Baby Lovingtons, Fang (one of my many nicknames) was hungry and âbee-linedâ (moving quickly in a straight course lol) to elbio for a Beef Empanada and Churros! As you also know by now, I get distracted by ALL things food and as I was âpatiently but excitedlyâ waiting for my churros, I decided to take some elbio food happy snaps!
Apologies to the ladies who called out my name um, well, gulp, a couple of times before Queen Louie had to âsnap me back to realityâ lol to take my churros for me!
By now, you know HOW I become about elbio churros!Â
The Kumars (husband and wife) Ash and Vinnie are always âwarm and welcomingâ to each and every person who comes to visit them and experience their âwonderfully preparedâ homemade Indian cuisine.
I love that all of their products are homemade using âlocal ingredientsâ and do not contain âM.S.G. or preservatives that are cooked in an authentic Indian traditionâ and they are a âfamily businessâ who is more than happy to cater to âsuit any occasion.â
Feel free to read more about the Kumars and other businesses via the Flavours of Campbelltown Food Trail Media Tour 2013.
It was enjoyable on the night to be welcomed by âfamily ownedâ business producer Sonia and her Merry Taralli Elves! The Taralli business was established in 1945 and owners John and Anna Viscone manufacture âthe finest European snacksâ;Â their recipes date back a century!
What I love is Continental Taralli Biscuits âfeature the best-quality local ingredients.â
Next, Queen Louie and I visited Therese from Salta in Bocca and her Merry Elf Helper!
Always with great smiles to share, Salta in Bocca is run by Therese and her husband Andreas.
Their business was established in 1996 (a romantic story really ) and they grew from a small âfamily ownedâ business to a âsuccessful gourmet brandâ throughout Australia.
Therese and Andreas have a wide variety of almond breads and biscotti and during the holiday season (which I always look forward to), they make âwonderfulâ and âbeautifully created with loveâ Christmas Stollen and Stained Glass Cookies (I call them ), but they are probably better called Stained Glass Almond Bread.
While Queen Louie (now Queen Lou lol) and I were decided where to experience next, in the background was great music by djBottleRockets.com (an Adelaide based dj) who plays music from the 60â²s to the early 2000â²s.
One could not help but dance and sing along with the tunes!
P.S. As you know by now, I canât do either, but it never stops me from trying; at least to dance! lol
The music just made you WANT to âbop to the beat!â
Hopefully, I am not âaging myselfâ with that expression!
As Queen Lou and I were on our way to imbibe at Selena Estates, we met into âThe Biscuitiersâ of Bake n Serve (also a participating Flavours of #Campbelltown business) who specialize in Shortbread Biscuits, Continental Almond Delights and Dippers.
Off to grape grower Selena from âfamily ownedâ Selena Estates Queen Lou and I did go! I must admit, Queen Lou and I were quite fond of their Cab Sav and seemingly it was a âvery popularâ wine on the night and love it is made with organic grapes! By now Queen Lou and I were getting a tad peckish (Aussie lingo for hungry) and was so glad we ventured over to Fred from Rezz (a âfamily ownedâ Flavours of #Campbelltown Foodtrail business) and his merry little elves who were more than happy sharing their Very Merry Holiday smiles too!
Hereâs Fred and one of his Rezz elves!

What a GREAT choice Queen Lou made as (honestly), we both agreed this was âthe bestâ Salt and Pepper Squid!
I chose the garlic and aioli sauce; each piece was thoroughly enjoyed with lots of mmmmmmmmmmâs by both Queen Lou and me too!
Sometimes you would swear we are twin born in different years!
Other popular Flavours of #Campbelltown businesses were: Assiaggioâs pasta with Assaggio brand pasta sauce was a big favorite with the crowd as well as their Gelati!
Nothing like the smell of an Aussie BBQ with Slape and Sons meats!
WHEW!!!
I know that was A LOT to digest in one read, but I am so hoping you FEEL the
food E-X-C-I-T-E-M-E-N-T so far, true!
It was Fairy, Fairy fun!
Feel free to share this post via Twitter and Facebook! Thank you!
All comments brighten my day!
Look forward to #Campbelltown Moonlight Markets About Merriment, Magic and Music Part 2 where Queen Lou and I uncovered some âewe beauteâ (Aussie for beautiful) hand crafted, South Australian locally produced and sourced products as well as revealing (sharing lol) the Merriment Mischief (in a fun way) we both got up to!
