Ok, so I already have the recipe for my Apple Dumplings on here⦠and they are phenomenal & super easy to make. I have called them the âBEST EVERâ for over a decade but just recently, I had an idea on how I could take them up just a notch â and make them a little more fun.
In my recipe for apple dumplings, I use cans of crescent rolls for the dough & but this time around I decided to switch out the crescent rolls forâ¦.
wait for itâ¦.
Cinnamon Rolls!
Iâm a freakinâ genius.
Ok, maybe not a genius. Maybe I just get too many sweet tooth craving but yâall can all humor me here.
Cinnamon Roll Apple Dumplings are the bomb. The end.
Well, not really the end because Iâve got to show you how to make them. And make them you must. Seriously⦠These need to be in your life as of 5 minutes ago.
Hereâs what you need:
Flatten out the cinnamon rolls from 2 cans of 8count cinnamon rolls, leaving the cinnamon side up. Peel 2 granny smith apples & slice each apple into 8 slices. Wrap each apple piece with one cinnamon roll, sealing the ends, encasing the cinnamon flakes inside with the apple.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine 2 sticks of butter, 1.5 cups of sugar, & 1/2 tsp of cinnamon until all melted â whisking often. Place the cinnamon roll apple dumplings in a 9Ã13 baking dish & pour the âsauceâ over top.
Pour 1.5 cups (12oz) of Mountain Dew (or any other citrus soda) over top. Trust me on this.
Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes,or until golden brown.
Drizzle with the cream cheese icing from the tubes.
Serve with the yummy sauce in the bottom of the pan. Vanilla ice cream is always a plus too.
