I have tried Roscoeâs chicken and waffles, and itâs alrighttttt. Some of you might be gasping in shock right now and are probably thinking, âhow could you?â Itâs just me but the chicken is somewhat lacking in flavor and at times a little dry. Maybe I just had bad days? Anyhow, I discovered this cute little breakfast place hidden in the back of the flower mart.
Poppy + Rose has some good breakfast choices. We ordered the buttermilk fried chicken and waffles, pulled pork hash, smoked salmon benedict, and the market scramble.
You can probably tell which my favorite was. The components that make a good fried chicken are crispy seasoned skin and tender juicy chicken meat. This had both, and that scallion topping made it that much better.
Next on the menuâ¦
The Market Scramble. The ingredients sold me- gouda, bacon, caramelized onions, mushrooms, pretty much everything that makes anything taste amazing.
The Pulled Pork Hash topped with Arugula. Unfortunately I couldnât get a shot of the runny yolk because I was too busy eating after this.
I liked how they used biscuit instead of the muffin. That creamy Hollandaise sauceâ¦.
Then mamabear wanted a shot with it
After brunch, we explored the flower mart.
