Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 90 minutes Makes: 2 chicken fryers

I love using rotisserie style chicken in many of my recipes. It’s juicy and falls off the bone. Many people buy these premade chickens at their local supermarket, but I discovered a way to make this type of chicken at home, and I didn’t need a rotisserie! With the help of a heat resistant, turkey-sized nylon bag, two chickens can be simply prepared at once, so you can have one chicken for dinner and store the other in the freezer for another time. It’s easy, delicious and can be made at home!

Ingredients:

1 tbsp flour
2 whole chicken fryers (chicken fryers are young whole chickens less than 5 lbs.)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp roasted garlic salt
2 tbsp dried rosemary

Prep:

  1. PREHEAT oven to 375 degrees.
  2. ADD flour to the Reynolds® Oven Bag , hold it tight and shake it.This will prevent it from bursting.
  3. COAT each chicken fryer evenly with the olive oil, garlic salt, and rosemary.
  4. PLACE the chicken fryers in the oven bag.
  5. TIE with the ties provided in the packaging.
  6. PLACE oven bag inside a pan that is at least 2 inches in depth.
  7. CUT ½ inch slits into the top of the bag to allow a vent for steaming.

Cook:

  1. BAKE in the oven for 90 minutes on 375 degrees or until chicken is tender and juices run clear or meat thermometer reads 170°F for breasts, 180°F for other pieces.
  2. CAREFULLY remove chickens from the bags, slice and serve.

REYNOLDS KITCHENS TIP:

Save time by cooking two turkey breasts or whole chickens at the same time in a turkey-sized oven bag.

I started my blog in 2010 after growing up not knowing how to cook. I taught myself to cook and literally went from burnt oven mitts to homemade meals. Now I share easy recipes daily for my readers!
