Adults and kids alike can snack smarter with Goldfish® Crackers Cherry-Apple Trail Mix, a nut-free snack mix for snacking on the go!
Itâs well-known amongst my friends and family that Iâm not a morning person. Do not talk to me until about an hour after Iâve gotten out of bed. I canât converse much more beyond âGood morningâ until Iâve had a cup of coffee. In fact, I have trouble MAKING a cup of coffee before Iâve had a cup of coffee.
This means that I do everything I can to get as much sleep as possible. I shower at night, I pack both mine and my sonâs bags at night, and I keep a lot of grab-and-go food in the house.
One grab-and-go snack I keep on hand is a favorite of both mine and my sonâs. Itâs a combination of Goldfish® Baked with Whole Grain Honey Grahams crackers, pretzels, freeze-dried apples, apple-flavored toasted oat cereal, and dried cherries. If I have them on hand, I throw in some cinnamon baking bits as well.
This trail mix is both delicious and filling. I love the combination of flavors and the contrasting textures. I asked my son what he likes about this trail mix, and he just said, âThe Goldfish crackers make me smile!â We both love that we can grab a bag off the shelf and eat it on the go.
All of the ingredients for this trail mix are available at your local Walmart. Plus, Walmart shoppers can save $1.00 on any ONE (1) Bolthouse Farms® 10 oz. Baby Carrots or Bolthouse Farms® 11 oz. juice when you buy any ONE (1) Pepperidge Farm®Goldfish® crackers 30 oz. or larger. No coupon needed!
I also love that the mix can easily be varied. Swap cheddar Goldfish crackers for the honey grahams, freeze dried bananas for the apples, dried cranberries for the cherries, and chocolate baking bits for the cinnamon. Liam loves going to the store with me, picking out the ingredients, and measuring them into the mixing bowl. I love that it gets us into the kitchen together.
You can serve the trail mix in one big bowl for family snack time, or divide it into individual bags for on-the-go snacking. Snack-size zip-top plastic bags work well, as do cellophane treat bags tied with twine. Iâve included a fun printable with trail mix tags. Print onto card stock, punch a hole in the top, thread twine through the hole, then use the twine to tie the bag shut.
