This is a list of my top 3 health & wellness apps. All of these apps are great if you have to eat clean, detox or follow an elimination diet because the majority of the recipes are raw and vegan. They are all reasonably priced and are often updated so you'll definitely get your money's worth. I don't know about you but I find that I get stuck between using the same 3-5 fruits and vegetables for blending and topping my oatmeal. The truth is that when the majority of your diet comes from fruits and vegetables you open yourself up to an abundance of food choices. I check my top 3 health & wellness apps daily for inspiration and I think you'll get hooked too.
1. Green Smoothies by Ascension Kitchen - ($2.99) I first heard about Ascension Kitchen through my friend who bought their detox ebook. She kept sending me these yummy recipes that she loved but also were a hit with her husband. If you struggle with getting enough vegetables and fruit into your daily diet, this app will make it easy and fun. All of the recipes are free from dairy, raw and vegan. You'll find recipes that aid in cleansing, inflammation, energy, immunity, digestion, recovery and beauty. Here is one of my favorite immunity recipes.
Royal Immortal
Blend everything on high for 30 seconds.
2. Deliciously Ella - ($4.99) I was a fan of Ella's long before her app was launched last month. So of course I downloaded it immediately when it became available to the public. Ella is so sweet to watch on camera with her coy demeanor. But at the same time she is passionate because her choice to follow an elimination diet is what has helped her manage her Postural Tachycardia Syndrome, a rare illness that kept her in bed up to 16 hours a day in chronic pain. Her recipes are so delicious and pure. She helped me realize that I could still enjoy great food without processed sugar. Here is a quote from Ella.
Overnight I took up a whole foods, plant-based diet and gave up all meat, dairy, sugar, gluten, anything processed and all chemicals and additives, which was a pretty drastic change. I literally never ate fruit or vegetables before, my diet instead revolved around Ben and Jerryâs ice cream, Chocolate, peanut butter and jelly eaten with a spoon, pick-n-mix and lots of cereal and pasta â I was a sugar monster! Eating this way has allowed me to take control of my illness, stopping the constant pain, restoring my energy and giving me my life back again. It really has healed me, and just eighteen months after starting this lifestyle Iâve been able to come off all my medication and I feel so incredible, better than ever really!Â
3. The Whole Pantry - ($2.99) I discovered this app through it's creator, Belle Gibson. Her story is pretty incredible. Belle was diagnosed with terminal, malignant brain cancer a few years ago and found that eating a whole food diet gave her strength to live well. The recipes on this app are divine and were created to improve sleep, lose weight, clear skin, reduce allergies, aid in digestion and balance moods. All of the recipes are 100% gluten, dairy and refined sugar free. And they are vegetarian, vegan, paleo and clean eating friendly. Here's an example of what Belle would suggest you cook today if you wanted to transition to cleaner eating.
Breakfast:Â Cinnamon & Cacao Granola
Lunch:Â Soba Noodle Salad with Honey & Sesame Pumpkin
Dinner:Â Beet & Apple Juice Pulp Burger
Dessert:Â Chocolate Nutbutter Cups
