One day right before the Easter holiday a really nice sales marketer at the Costco liquor Shop showered me with 2 shots of this Peruvian Brandy. It is called Pisco Porton. Iâm not sure if it was the liquor talking on an empty stomach or what, but after the second shot I decided to buy a bottle and give it a try.
You might be asking yourself like I was âWhat is Pisco?â
Wellâ¦
Pisco is an aromatic brandy with complex flavor. Although it is new in America, Peruvians have enjoyed this white distilled spirit for over 300 years. It is made from distilled grapes and can be stronger than vodka in both flavor and alcohol content. It can be enjoyed alone or as a mixed drink.
Lucky for you (and for me), I have been testing out different ways to serve this peruvian delight. You can thank me later!
The first drink I really liked is this Pisco Peruvian Margarita.
To make this drink I used a pre-made margarita mix. I used the Kirkland brand I bought from my local Costco. I know a Costco sized bottle might seem like a lot of mix, but can you really ever have too much margarita mix?!
I would also like to point out that I used my new favorite cocktail shaker â itâs the Mason Jar Cocktail Shaker. I got this shaker as an impulse buy one day at the paper-source. Besides the fact that it was worth every penny in cuteness alone, it comes with a lid for shaking and a strainer. Also worth noting, it holds A-LOT of liquor â just sayingâ¦.
