Summer break is almost here and with it I will be welcoming a slower schedule and the opportunity for fun backyard parties. One of the kidsâ (and the adults, lets be honest) favorite things to do in the summer is go camping. Last summer was a bit of a bust when it came to camping because of moving and settling into the new house. This year, we are officially settled and ready to plan some camping trips!
In full disclosure, we typically camp in our backyard a few times in addition to going to a campground or up to Kellyâs Island. Our backyard camping is always a blast because we have the convenience of refrigeration at our finger tips making our food options much more plentiful. That being said, we do go all out and cook everything from breakfast to dessert outside and it tastes all the better for it.
Remember our c ampfire breakfast burgers? Those have been our go-to for years but this year Iâm so excited to be adding a new burger to our rotation: Smoky Maple & Sage Breakfast Pork Burgers. My friends at McCormick have outdone themselves with creating some knock-your-socks-off brazen burger rubs. These are crusts and rubs that will transform any burger into a work of art. When I heard of this breakfast burger, I knew that had âCaruso Camping Tripâ written all over it! I almost canât decide if I want to make these for breakfast or dinner next week. I am a true breakfast for dinner kind of girl, so perhaps dinner?!
Decisions, decisionsâ¦
These Smoky Maple & Sage Breakfast Pork Burgers are made from juicy ground pork that is coated in a sweet and smoky maple rub using McCormick Grill Mateâs Smokehouse Maple seasoning. Then the burger is built on a grilled waffle with cheese, bacon, and a runny yolk fried egg. What more could I want in a camp breakfast?!
You can bet that I have my fridge stocked with all of the necessities to make these decadent burgers next weekend at our first backyard camping trip. Between these burgers and some roasted berry sâmores, weâll be all set!
Happy Tuesday!
